T e single-deck requirene t is to be met by 413 buses no t of which will be Leyland ional 2s. The order ;pe ifies 302 11.6-metre Natioial 2s, 81 10.6 metre National :s nd seven 11.3-metre subn express-type Mark 1 and Nationals.
ost of the Mark 2 Natio'al will be basic models (B;e es) although some heavyiut versions will be included or more intensive urban duties. The Leyland National 2 is likely to be in full production by November this year.
The balance of the singledeck requirement is to be met with 18 Bedford YLQ buses, 2 Bedford CF Reebur minibuses and three midibuses of a type yet to be specified.
The coach requirement is for 272 Leyland Leopards, of which 233 will be 11-metre and 39 12-metre and three Bedford YMTs. Body contracts for the lightweight buses and all the coaches have yet to be placed.
