AMOBILE dental unit providing the necessary equipment and living accommodation for the dentist was built recently for use in Cyprus by Messrs. Aliens of Bristol, Berkeley Square, Bristol, 8, to the order of the Crown Agents for the Colonies.
Based on a Morris-Commercial chassis, the body has a timber frame, apart from steel in the underframe, light-alloy panelling and 1st:41ex insulation around the walls and roof. Electric power for the dental equipment, fans and lighting is provided by a power take-offdriven 'dynamo in the cab. When available, mains supply can be tapped in lieu. Lighting can also be fed on the normal 12-volt circuit, a second battery being provided for this purpose.
A water tank supplies a hand basin and there is pressure equipment. for dental requirements. All the interior furniture, including a couch, was made by Messrs. Aliens, the tops of cabinets and shelves being in Formica for easy cleaning.
