DATSUN UK has exhibited the acceptable face of Japitalism by giving £150,000 to the British motor industry's own charity. A cheque for this handsome sum was presented by David
Richards, sales director of Datsui-i UK to David Plastow, formerly managing director of Rolls-Royce and now Vickers' managing director and chief executive and chairman of the Motor and Cycle Trades' Benevolent Funds 75th anniversary appeal.
Datsun and its dealers have now contributed a magnificent £250,000 towards Ben's target of £2 million by the end of the year. Others will soon bring donations to well over £1 million. Despite hard times, the donors are still far better off than those for whom the appeal has been made.
