A RECENT introduction of Accles tt arid Pollock, Ltd., Oldbury, Birmingham, is a skeleton 2+-3-ton lorry body, made of steel sections and weighing no more than 2 cwt. 2 qrs. An accompanying illustration shows an example, built for an Albion chassis, and it will be seen that it consists of a framework, all ready for dropping on a bare chassis and requiring then only the addition of flooring, sides and ends.
It will be seen that it incorporates six rolled channel cross-bearers, an end member, deep longitudinals, which form lower extensions of the body sides, and corner pillars.
The structure has been thoroughly tested by its maker before putting it on the market, having been in hard service for several months, incorporated in one of the company s works vehicles.
It is supplied in sections, rust
proofed and oil-primered, with the necessary rivets for assembly, the crossbars, side-sills, etc., having the brackets spot-welded in .position.
Hinges. of lightweight construction for a drop-sided body can also be supplied.
