Information on Security Devices AN illustrated leaflet which sets out details of Waso gear shift locks and steering locks has been produced by Waso Ltd., manufacturers of vehicle anti-theft devices. This indicates the correct lock to use on a wide range of vehicles.

The gear shift lock, available for both floor and columnmounted gear changes, is used to lock a vehicle in reverse gear. The steering lock is for use in vehicles where the gear lock is not suitable. Apart from locking and unlocking steering this lock contains a multi-position switch which provides progressive positions for switching off and on the electrical services, ignition and the starter motor solenoid; this replaces the standard ignition switch which then becomes obsolete.

The makers state that the keys for these locks are exclusive and are registered with the company; duplicates are supplied only to the registered owner or his representative.

Multiswaged Hydraulic Couplings IAA PRECISION-MADE mechanical finger, called the Flexyfinger, is now available from Queff Engineering Ltd. This device, designed for single-hand operation, should prove extremely useful in garages and workshops when small components are required to be used in difficult working conditions.

The instrument is simple to operate. The moulded knob at one end of the " finger" is depressed—this causes four hapened steel claws to open simultaneously. The claws are then placed around the object to be held; pressure is then released from the moulded knob—and the claws close to hold firmly any shape of article located within them. It is claimed that the action described will take place at whatever angle the Flexyfinger itself is bent—even if it is bent in a circle.

Two models of the instrument are available.. The Flexyfingcr Mk. 1 has a 6-in, reach; the Mk. 2 version has a reach of I ft. Made by: Queff Engineering Ltd., industrial Components Division, Durban Road, Bognor Regis, Sussex.

Price: Mk. 1, 13s. 11d. (nett retail); Mk. 2, 14s. I Id. (nett retail).

Lamp Bulb Range 1-1 A NEW range of vehicle lamp bulbs is being marketed in Britain by Bosch Ltd. A feature of these is that the filaments are pressed into the supports rather than the looping or welding method being used—this is claimed to make the bulb vibration-proof and make sure that it has a long life.

The bulbs are being manufactured in this country by Nore Electric Co. Ltd., of Southend-on-Sea, Essex; all of them are fully tested prior to being distributed.

Marketed by: Bosch Ltd., 20 Carlisle Road, London. N.W.9.

Spray-on Lubricant in A GENERAL-PURPOSE spray-on lubricant,

called Squeck-no-More, made by Turtle Wax Ltd., is now available from garages and vehicle accessory retailers. It is claimed that this non-greasy lubricant can be used successfully on a very wide range of fitments, both on vehicles and generally, preventing rust and combating corrosion.

Squeek-no-More, which is supplied in an aerosol pack, is sprayed on to work in small quantities. The makers state that the lubricant gives instant results, and will not freeze, melt or wash off.

Price: 7s. 6d. AN interesting development for users of hydraulic hose is the new Angus Maxflex rnultiswaged coupling, claimed to considerably speed up the production rate of assemblies. The makers, George Angus and Co. Ltd.. state that extensive pressure and impulse tests have shown that Maxlex hydraulic hose assemblies fitted with these couplings have a long service life and that the flared skirt of the socket improves flexibility.

These versatile couplings have been designed with tolerances enabling them to be muItiswaged over the wire braid or rubber cover, the choice depending on the application.

Full details of these couplings are contained in Information Bulletin D, available on request from the makers.
