PUBLIC resistance to a recei increase in fares has led 1 increasing losses by MidIar Red.
This year the deficit coul be at least £3,000,000. Direct( and general manager, Mr Jol. Hargreaves, claims that 760 ot of the 800 daily services at now run at a loss. Count councils in the Midland Re area are being asked either t accept further cuts in rush hot services or to pay more in Sul sidies.
