ANNOUNCING the introduction of a much modified Mark Ii version of its TCT caravan transporter, Tollbridge Trailers claim that the unit is much easier to operate and maintain.
The trailer is a self-loading unit with a carrying capacity of 3.5 tons and it will accommodate caravans up to 32ft. long and of 8ft. 2in. track width. The frame is designed so as to allow easy loading up a gentle incline when the removable ramps arc in position. This enables the longest and lowest caravans to be loaded without grounding.
An adjustable jockey-wheel rail is provided to accommodate leftor right-hand mountings. A jockey-wheel ramp is also fitted. Caravans are secured to the transporter by an adjustable 2in. ball hitch which allows the van to be secured in its correct position. The wooden platforms are covered with galvanized sheet metal and the trailer is fitted with a screw-down jockey-wheel at the drawbar and adjustable support legs at the rear.
Four close-coupled wheels are independently sprung by torsional rubber springing units and overrun braking is used. The trailer is designed to be used with either a Land-Rover or any suitable car having an engine capacity of 2.5 litres or more. Made by: Tollbridge Trailers Ltd., Lymington, Hants.
Price: £506 ex-works.
