• The 91 IIGV testing stations on the list for privatisation may have to install rolling-road dynamometers for emissions testing, says the VI.
Current equipment can read down to 1.5m-1. Vehicles equipped with Euro.2 engines are not expected to emit this amount of smoke so a more sensitive test will be needed. Work on such a test has not yet started as Euro-2 does not come into force on new vehicles until 1996.
