• Protective garments made from synthetic fibres can be melted by welding sparks and become a hazard to the wearer. says Chapman & Smith.
To counter this it has introduced Proban, a flame-retardant cotton drill which meets1183120. If a flame or hot metal touches the material will form an insulating char and will not ignite, says the company.
Another launch from Chapman & Smith is the Sussex/200 twin filter respirator which meets EN140 and gives protection against dust, vapour and gases.
The company says the filter cartridges are approved for use under the COSIIII regulations. CHAPMAN & SMITH 100 Phone (0825) 840323. Fax (0825)
