increased demand for general aulage facilities has resulted in BRS Elgin depot. One interesting feature in the construction of the depot has been the use of the dressed granite setts which were removed from Glasgow's Argyle Street when the city lifted its tramlines. The setts have been used to provide a special 4-ft.-wide strip in the enclosed yard for the landing wheels of semi-trailers.

The BRS fleet at Elgin consists almost entirely of articulated vehicles with a variety of semi-trailers, as a result of which facilities are available for traffic requiring flat platforms, vans, bulk grain hoppers and Crown-locked vans.
