• Fit-and-forget marker lights could be a possibility with the latest product from Flexible Lamps. It is using nine light emitting diodes inside its normal 332 /3, /4, and /5 side marker lamp.
Prices for the LED unit are about 2.5 times that of the normal filament lamp side marker but the manufacturer predicts the life at 100,000 hours. Those with existing Rubbolite side markers can use part number 80211 to convert from incandescent to LED in the same mounting.
Finding favour among fleets is the company's latest range of incandescent pendant marker lamps. These hang just below the body and push out of the way if hit. Prices on the pendants are the same as the fixed lights.
