5 ransport Secretary John MacGregor may well be in the unusual position of looking forward to getting the sack if he drops through the trap door in John Major's expected reshuffle.
His old employer, banker Hill Samuel, has offered him a £200,000 city job if he is asked to leave the cabinet. That is three times his salary as a Minister. What's more he'll be able to escape the wrath of ecoprotestors who recently camped out on his roof in a demonstration against a road building plan.
