• Tees-side transport committee, faced with the prospect of a £100,000 deficit for the current year, has accepted a recommendation by the transport manager, Mr. W. C. Wilson, to approach a business research firm to carry out a survey on how to make the undertaking profitable.
Mr. Wilson said he estimated that the survey would cost £3,000, but he thought it would provide a quick answer to some problems arid would be money well spent. Similar surveys had been useful in other areas.
The committee chairman, Ald. F. Morris, said that if existing fares were to be maintained, a blitz would be necessary on schedules.
