• Specially designed for fuel deliveries along country lanes and narrow driveways is a new road tanker constructed and designed for Oilheat Services (Guildford) Ltd by Fergussons (Motor Engineers) Ltd of Portsmouth.
Oilheat is a distributor for Conoco within a 20-mile radius of Guildford and delivers domestic oil supplies to many areas where a normal-sized vehicle would be unsuitable.
The overall width of the tanker is only 6ft 6in. and is based on a Shelvoke and Drury 10ft-wheelbase chassis. Capacity of tanker is 1220 gallons and the tank itself consists of three compartments for different grades of fuel. Overall length is 20ft 5+in. and gross vehicle weight is 8.5 tons.
A Fergusson rear-mounted three-way pressure/metering-hose-reel system allows deliveries to the rear, offside and nearside to be made.
