• A new general-purpose low-loading trailer of 5.6 tons gross weight has been introduced by B. Dixon-Bate Ltd of Chester. Capable of carrying small road rollers or other contractors' plant of up to 4 tons, the close coupled C5.6FC features a three-line air-braking system and a variable-height drawbar incorporating a heavy-duty hydraulic damper.
The new model C8OFC trailer, and the all-welded chassis, have been redesigned to cut down unladen weight. This has had the effect of increasing load capacity by 0.25 tons.
A one-ton double-purchase winch with lever handbrake and 30ft of kin. wire rope is mounted on the drawbar forward of the headboard. A heavy-duty adjustable stand is fitted at the front of the trailer, with two quick-action stands at the rear.
Wheels are fitted with 7.50 x 16 Michelin radials, and suspension is by means of independent trailing arms on rubber torsional Flexitor units.
Standard equipment includes regulation lighting, a low-pressure warning device for the air system, and regulation triangles and reflection rear marker plates.
