'ff —Record production levels are now being achieved for ERF vehicles, the company's chairman, Mr Peter Foden, told shareholders at last week's agm.
While the Gardner engine strike and ERF's own industrial problems seriously affected production at the time, steps had now been taken to increase the supply of engines from other sources. Although engines were still short, production was running at the record rate of 50 units a week and the company hope this would be further increased in the autumn.
Mr Foden told shareholders that he was confident that with the continuing boom in commercial vehicle demand and with the increased level of production, the units lost in earlier months would be more than offset during the current financial year.
