After its success last year CM is repeating
its free legal clinic at the CV Show. Patric Cunnane explains how to book your
consultation with a top transport lawyer.
Have you got a question about road transport law that you would like to sit down and discuss with an expert? Well, here's your chance. CM will be repeating its successful free legal clinic at this year's CV show which takes place in Birmingham on 5-7 April.
Readers who ring our legal hotline can book a half-hour appointment with one of a number of professional transport lawyers who will be resident on Commercial Motor's stand for the duration of the show.
Participating lawyers will include Backhouse Jones: Barker Gotelee and Hill Dickinson.
With the Working Time Directive coming into force next month this is the perfect opportunity to try to unravel any problems you reckon the new law will cause in your business. How does it affect holiday entitlement? How will a period of availability be defined? What kind of records do you need to keep during each reference period? How does a rolling reference period differ from a fixed reference period? What are the penalties if you fall foul of the law? Our experts will be able to answer all these questions and more.
Afternatively, your question could be about licensing, drivers' hours, axle weights, the penalty points system, employment legislation, public inquiries, appeals, tribunals, the use of digital tachographs or any other matter concerning road transport law.
