Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE newly elected national council of the R.H.A. at its first meeting last week re-elected Mr. D. 0. Good as chairman for the next 12 months. Mr. Good is managing director, Pioneer Haulage Ltd., Beer, Devon.

Four national vice-chairmen were also elected: Mr. H. Bell (Bell and Co. (Transport) Ltd., Edinburgh); Mr. A. R. Butt (Morris Transport Ltd., Sutton Coldfield); Mr. R. Clifford (R. Clifford Ltd., Seaham, Co. Durham); and Mr. P. H. R. Turner (Thomas Allen Ltd.. London, E. I).

Three of the vice-chairman were re-elected. The new vice-chairman, Mr.

Clifford, is managing director of R. Clifford Ltd. He has been a member of the national council of the Association since it was formed in 1945 and held similar positions in earlier associations dating back to h:s appointment on the national council of the previous R.H.A. in 1937. He was chairman of the Association's Northern area for seven years and has served on many other important bodies within the Association, including the executive and finance committees. Mr. Clifford has for many years been a member of the .Road Haulage Wages Council.

The National Council also appointed the executive committee and finance committee for the following year.

Agreement was given to a recommendation from the executive committee that the long distance group and the clearing house group should be amalgamated. The title of the new group will be decided later.
