• Scania has changed the specification of the low-floor N113 bus chassis for the UK market. Instead of the low-floor N113CRB with independent front suspension, Scania will fit its own front suspension system with a beam axle, re-designating the chassis N113CRL.
"The front beam axle has a simpler construction with fewer wearing points," says Scania's bus and coach technical manager John Chatley. This should reduce overall maintenance costs, he adds.
Apart from the front axles, the chassis is unchanged. It has an entrance step height of 320mm, reducing to 230mm when kneeling, and rising to 350mm over two thirds of the vehicle. Power options range from 154kW (206hp) to 189kW (253hp). Scania retains its standard N113CRB, which has a floor height of 600mm and an entrance step height of 320mm with two or three steps.
