• Seven new Ford box vans are being supplied by Blox Services Ltd. to itssubsidiarycompany, Burn Transit Ltd., which operates an A-licence and casual-hire fleet of commercial vehicles.
The bodies, based on 0400, D550 and D750 Ford chassis, are built in aluminium. They are sprayed with a natural-coloured, and very hard, polystyrene enamel which is expected
to give better wear than the bare metal. The interior measurements are 21 ft x 7 ft 6 in. x 6 ft 6 in. high and the body, which has a
transparent reinforced plastics roof, finishes at chassis height: deep skirts, it has been found, become ravaged under the congested road conditions in Greater London. Furthermore, the vans are built of standard removable sections, any of which can be replaced, if damaged, without extensive work. The signmiting has been done on separate panels, as opposed to direct on the body for the same reason.
