• The idea of height limits for loaded goods vehicles was turned down by the Government this week. Mr. Carmichael, answering Mr. John Rankin (Labour, Govan), replied that his department saw no advantage overall in setting a height limit. It would be commercially very disadvantageous if vehicles had to be lower than some were at present.
