WITH one dissentient, a special W meeting of the Booking Agents Association of Great Britain agreed, last week, that every me/rater should, if possible, hold at least both London Coastal and P.S.V. Operators ticket books.
The committee was instructed to endeavour to ensure that, as from January 17, no agent in the Metropolitan Area (a radius of 40 miles of Central London) should, except in special circumstances, be elected a member, unless, during the 12 months preceding September 30, 1934, his sales of coach tickets reached a total of £1,000. The latter provision does not, of course, apply to existing members.
Seventy persons attended the meeting, including Mr. White, secretary of London Coastal Coaches, Ltd. Mr. C. J. Adams, president, occupied the chair.
Mr. T. Morris, the chairman, dealt with events of the past year, Mr. W. F. French, chairman of P.S.V. Operators, Ltd., spoke on the sales side of the coaching industry, whilst helpful advice in connection with publicity and salesmanship was given by Mr. Charles C. Knights, honorary publicity adviser to the Association.
