transporters, the Road Haulage Association is to set up machinery for national and local representation for this type of operator.
Announcing this yesterday, the R.H.A. pointed out that in some of the centres of the car manufacturing industry, associations of car transporters have already done useful work, but the need is felt strongly for a national body.
A steering committee is giving preliminary consideration to the subjects, with which it is hoped the new machinery will deal; Mr. G. H. Coiling has been appointed chairman and Mr. R. H. Barnett vice-chairman. The list (right) shows the members of the committee. which has power to co-opt.
A general meeting of car transporters will be held within six months to receive a report from the committee and to approve recommendations for future action.
