NINETEEN years of negotiating and frustration appear to have at List brought an agreement for the introducCum of one-person-operated buses in Dublin.
Coras lompair Eireann, the Irish semi-state transport company, and trades unions have agreed to a Labour Court formula by which they will "co-operate fully and wholeheartedlyin the introduction of 0-P-0 buses from October 1.
They have agreed to an average, and not a maximum working day of seven hours 38 minutes, to exploring the possibilities of operating an exact Cares scheme and to voluntary retirement.
CIE has been attempting to introduce 0-P-0 doubledeckers in Dublin since 1%7, and more recently has been trying to operate standard single-deckers on to which feed into the city's Dart electric rail service.
