FORD is displaying two Transit-based concept vehicles at the Geneva show — a luxury leisure vehicle called the Chasscur and a design model of a recovery vehicle called the Tug.
The concept Tug is shown with its purpose-built trailer as a support vehicle to transport and maintain Ford's RS2000 rally car to interimtional meetings.
A fully functional Tug, built by Tickford, will he seen later this year at the Paris itad Birmingham Motor Shows, powered by an uprated Ford V6 petrol engine with all-wheel drive transmission based on the Granada car's driveline. As a purpose-built towing vehicle with cab extension it will be able to tow up to 1.5 tonnes depending on its wheelbase and specification.
It will combine many of the special luxury features on the Chasseur, such as air suspended seats, air conditioning and phone system, with a "go-anywhere" performance.
