A SYSTEM for keeping diesel storage tanks warm to prevent the fuel waxing has been developed by Merseyside thermal insulation specialist Cooperheat. It comprises 2min-thick epoxy glass laminate panels with flat resistance foil encapsulated in them. A jacket of panels is strapped around the tank to be heated and a 120 or 240V current passed through it.
'Mc Eagle 500 panels are available in two sizes — 1,225 x 460111111 and 610 x 460. They can heat metal or nonmetallic tanks up to 120°C, although thermostats are available with operating ranges of —10°C to 60°C for frost protection, and 40° to 210° fur process applications.
The system is marketed by Bestobell Protection, Bestobell Protection PO Box 6 213 Bedford Avenue Slough Berkshire SL1 4RR
