THE high driving standards of drivers working for Heavy Transport has earned the company a reduction in insurance premium, according to the managing director of the 'company's transport division, Mr Len Matthews.
Lloyd Richards, an employee of the company who won the Commercial Motor Lorry Driver of the Year competition for the second time this year, has been presented by the company's chairman, Mr Alan Dalton, with a colour TV set, a Bang and Olufson hi-fi system and money order for the plastering of the exterior of his new house at Gorran Haven.
Two other Heavy Transport drivers Clive Dudley and Bill Ledger, who reached the finals of the competition have each been presented with 400-day clocks._
