RENAULT HAS updated its seven-year-old Master van, introducing a host of new technical and safety features.
The new Master will be available from November with two new diesel engiries – a 100hp 2.5-litre commonrail unit which replaces the outgoing 2.2-litre 90hp version, and a Nissan sourced 3.0-litre producing 135hp. A six-speed manual gearbox is standard on the 120 and 140 models and all versions get a revised interior including redesigned dashboard with dash-mounted gear lever.
Renault has also updated its safety package. It includes ABS, emergency brake assist and electronic brake distribution, driver airbag and seat belt pretensioner as standard. A 100-litre passenger airbag is available as an option.
• Vauxhall and Renault have updated their jointly-developed Moran° and Master vans. Three new turbodiesel common-rail engines are available – an 80hp 1.9, a 100h1) 2.5 and a 3.0 litre producing 1136hp.
