MR. J. H. H. BAXTER has succeeded MR. J. H. CLemeNr as private secretary to MR. HUGH MOLSON, Joint Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Transport.
MR. F. GRUNDY. commercial superintendent, north-eastern region, British Railways, has succeeded MR. E. W. ARtae. as a member of the Yorkshire Transport Users' Consultative Committee.
MR. C. W. H. SPARROW has been elected a vice-chairman of the Metropolitan and South Eastern Area or the Road Haulage Association. His appointment and those mentioned last week will take effect on May 11.
MR. J. DELICATE has been elected chairman of the Coventry Area of the Traders' Road Transport Association. The -vice-chairmen are MR. J. H. GUTTERIOGE and MR. R. J. KNIGHT, and MR. H. A. TILSLEY is honorary secretary.
MR. STANLEY WORRALL, who recently retired from the paints division of
Ltd.. is now acting as a paint consultant to Brown Brothers. Ltd. Mr. Worrall, who has been in the paint industry for 42 years. joined in 1941 and was transport sales control manager.
MR. T. P. O'DONNELL, general manager of the Mexborough and Swinton Traction Co., has been appointed general manager of Ashton-under-Lyne Transport Department. He was with London Transport from 1933-46 and joined the Mexborough company in

MR. J. LEES has been appointed assistant home sales manager of Leyland Motors, Ltd. The company have reorganized their home sales organization and a new area, covering the East Midlands, has been created with MR. B. S. PICKUP as manager. He will be assisted by MR. P. RumsLy, formerly in the company's South Wales area, who becomes Lincoln district manager. MR. W. K. PARKER, Midland regional manager, has now a smaller area upon which to concentrate. Additions to the sales force include MR. -G. B. TAYLOR, Carlisle: MR. J. K. POWELL, Cardiff: MR. C. D. WAITERS, Birmingham; and MR. C. 3. DURRAN, Suffolk.

MR. JAMES F1NLAYSON, transport manager of Coatbridge Co-operative Society. has retired after 36 years' service.
MR. WALTER BERRY. commercial assistant of Halifax Transport Department, is shortly to retire after over 50 years' service with the undertaking. He became commercial assistant in 1923.
MR. G. E. CATER has been appointed general sales manager of Tecalemit, Ltd. He recently returned from India where he was a director and general manager of Tecalemit (India), Ltd., and Tecalemit (Pakistan). ltd.
MR. JAMES Amos, chairman of Scottish Omnibuses, Ltd., has been elected a vice-president of the Institute of Transport for 1954-55. Other vicepresidents are MR. R. W. BIRCH, chairman of the Potteries Motor Traction Co., Ltd., SIR JOHN BE.NSTEAD, deputy chairman of the British Transport Commission, MR. C. K. BIRD, MR. F. H. CAVE and MR. P. G. MASEF1ELD.
