ATRUCK DRIVER who caused a fatal crash while under the influence of drugs was imprisoned last week for live and a half years.
Daniel Downes from Hemsworth, WestYorkshire.admittedeausingthe death of another truck driver.Lithua nian Darius Cepas.when he crashed into his broken-down truck after smoki ng cannabis last March.
Downes was driving on the MI I near Saffron Walden , Essex when he hit Cepas's vehicle, which was stationary on the hard shoulder. Downes had a previous conviction for dangerous driving in 2001. when he fell asleep at the wheel.
He was also banned from driving for 10 years and will have to take another driving test before being allowed back on the road.
