In The Department for Transport (DIT) has launched an advertising campaign using the backs of trucks to highlight the dangers of falling asleep at the wheel.
Its Tiredness Kills—Take A Break slogan will appear on 170 trucks across the UK for three months In a bid to encourage dilvers to take regular breaks.
The poster created by In Your Space Media is made from red reflective material so it can also he seen at night; this is crucial to the campaign as many accidents occur at this time when drivers are tired.
Jonathan Bramley, managing director of In Your Space Media, says: "Research shows that 20% of accidents are caused by driver fatigue and the majority involve people who drive long distances. Trucks operating on the motorways are the perfect advertising vehicles for reminding drivers to take breaks."
