PLANS to run a round-London sightseeing stage carriage bus service by independent operator Culture Bus have got a stage nearer fruition following an appeal by the operator against London Transport's refusal to agree to the service.
Transport Secretary David Howell is satisfied that the service, which proposes using double-deck buses on an 18-mile route, could make a contribution towards meeting the needs of London.
Culture Bus plans to use a fleet of ex-London Transport Daimler Fleetlines on the route, and hopes to start in May.
