ERBOROUGH-based Ray Smith Tail Lifts new cantilever tail lift s an extra haff-tonne capacity. The two-tonne model is fitted a deeper 1.2m (4ft) platform than for previous models but ins the ability to lift heavy loads of the platform edge.
le cantilever design follows pattern already established 'Ray Smith's one tonne and tonne models. Unlike many -column models it requires ;ide stays or other mechaniassistance. At ground level platform can be fitted to
surface inclines, and in raised position it forms part e rear closure. Lifting and tilting is effected by four short-stroke horizontal hydraulic rams operating at pressures to suit the model's capacity.
An option chosen by Harper and Tunstall includes an automatic toe guard which retracts as the platform rises, forming a bridge to the vehicle floor.
