A REPORT of the London County I-1. Council mentions that 112 auxiliary ambulance stations supplement the 20 stations of the London Ambulance Service and several thousand drivers have been organized and trained to convey air-raid casualties to first-aid posts and hospitals. Over 1,000 members of the auxiliary ambulance service are unpaid.
The London .A.P.S. includes 20,000 whole-time auxiliaries and operates some 2,250 auxiliary appliances, including 14 new fare-boats for work on the river. The 60 peace-time stations have been augmented by more than 320 auxiliary stations.
