commercial vehicle operators. An obstacle to obtaining proof of what was going on was the precaution taken to sell cut-price spirit only to certain customers.
Replying to a question as to how proved cases of price-cutting could be dealt with, the chairman said the Petroleum Board could stop supplies.
A reversion to the pre-war practice of selling petrol at varying recognized prices was reported to have taken place in certain parts of the country, where
the number of petrol pumps in operation has been restricted by the authorities.
