• Parcelforce managing director Nick Nelson has resigned for personal reasons, according to the Post Office.
Nelson, who was boss of Parcelforce from its launch 18 months ago, is replaced from this week by Peter Howarth, who was assistant managing director Royal Mail.
Howarth takes over at a time when Parcelforce is set to announce a "substantial loss" in the Post Office accounts, published next month. The losses are being eased by axing 550 administration jobs (CM 9-15 May).
