Hcientists have developed a car which runs on tapwater — hydrogen is extracted from H20 and is converted into electricity. Bright sparks. But no surprise to the Hawk who lives in a part of the metropolis where the tapwater could pass for diesel any day. However, I suspect that the petrol giants would prefer to draw an oily rag over the boffins' breakthrough.
Meanwhile, UK farmers are rubbing their hands with glee following news that the Ministry of Agriculture is warming to the idea of growing vast quantities of oil seed rape to fuel trucks and tractors. A bus operator in France is currently testing the rape fuel, a case of chippies replacing clippies?
