AN expansion programme for Vauxhall Motors Ltd. that will . involve an expenditure of £30 m. over the next three years was announced on Friday by Mr. William Swallow, chairman and Managing director.
He said that when the programme was completed Vauxhall would have an annual manufacturing potential of 452,000 cars, vans and trucks. The expansion will provide an additional 1,600,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space on company-owned land at Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, where the present plan for the production of mechanical units for Vauxhall and Bedford has been in operation since mid-1963. Work will start on the new extension within the next few weeks. Bedford commercial vehicle manutfacture will continue at the company's Dunsiable plant.
