IN the first quarter of 1966 the value of goods stolen from commercial vehicles in the Metropolitan Police district was considerably greater than in the corresponding period in each of the three preceding years, although the number of cases of theft fell slightly. It is believed that the current shortage of copper has been even more attractive to lorry thieves and accounts for the greater value.
