THE British Road Federation has asked 1 the chancellor of the Exchequer to reduce fuel tax by 6d. a gallon, from 2s. 9d. to 2s. 3d.. in his budget. It says this would help the competitive position of industry, play a significant part in stabilizing the cost of living, and help overcome the reluctance of manufacturers to build factories in development areas away from main markets.
