AS foreshadowed in The Commercial Motor, on January 14, the North Weste?n Road Car Co., Ltd., have applied to the North Western Licensing Authority for permission to raise fares.
The proposals are that ordinary and workers' singles over the lid. minimum
• and up to 5id, inclusive be increased by. Id., and 6d. fares and upwards by Id. Ordinary refurns up to Is. Id. are proposed to be .raised by Id., and workers' returns by 2d. (minimum Is. in most cases).
"That these proposals are extremely. moderate in all the circumstances is underlined by the fact that the resulting estimated increase in revenue will not fully meet our increased costs," Mr. G. Brook, general manager of the company said on Tuesday. . .•
