No rise • Van Hee Transport has imposed a pay freeze on its 45 drivers and 25 warehouse staff at Felling, Tyne & Wear, but it has agreed to meet the TGWU in April to discuss a 17.5% pay claim.
Growing fast • Parcelforce says it has won £9.3m worth of nextday business from Securicor, TNT, White Arrow and Carryfast, growing its business by 250% in the past year.
Rail weights • Kidderminster weighbridge manufacturer Central Weighing is to supply British Rail with almost £400,000-worth of ECapproved axle weighing systems.
Clean sweep • TDG subsidiary Williams has started a contract with baby wipes manufacturer Nice-Pak to distribute its product into Denmark and Norway. The operation, which will be handled from Williams' Trafford Park site, will collect from Nice-Pak's manufacturing centre on Deeside and deliver to Copenhagen and Oslo.
Public return • Glass Glover Group, the Yorkshire-based distribution specialist, is to return to the Stock Market after five years. The group first went public in 1963 but withdrew after a management buy-out in 1988. "We consider that the conditions are right for a return," says chief executive David Medcalf.
