LAND ROVER is cutting its British dealer network from 330 to 300. The BL subsidiary is also taking over its parts distribution network which is currently operated by Unipart.
The moves are seen as part of a programme to ease the company away from BL in preparation of its privatisation, although the likelihood of an early sale has not been helped by a decline in Land Rover's export sales, particularly in Africa and the Middle East, and the announcement by the company of a loss in 1983 of £14m.
