/ ICI Autocolor claims that its new refinish paint plant, built at a cost of £5 million at Stowmarket and now in operation, is the most advanced plant of its kind in the world.
'Ile plant has innovations such as automatic cleaning systems, computer controlled delivery of raw materials and rigorous quality control.
The plant has been built in recognition of the fact that today the successful refinisher is expected to deliver outstanding quality and colour matching faster than ever before. The demands on the bodyshop from fleet operators and the motor manufacturers' warranty schemes have never been greater.
"High quality and precise colour matching is the key to bodyshop profitability," says ICI Autocolor, the UK market leader in the refinish sector.
At the new plant unequalled standards of cleanliness ensure that paint performance is of the highest quality, while each basic colour is identical in every batch of that colour produced.
In the commercial transport market, ICI Autocolor Hi-gloss 383, a polyurethane paint, offers fast air drying with the possibility of applying a second colour the same day.
