VUHERE a motor vehicle is drawing VV a trailer not exceeding 1 ton in weight unladen, or not constructed to carry, and not carrying, a load other than plant or other special appliance or apparatus which is a permanent or essentially permanent fixture, and not exceeding 2 tons in total, weight, and where, in either case, the brakes automatically come into operation on the overrun, an attendant additional to the driver is now not required. This comes under the Motor Vehictes (Construction and Use) (Amendment)(No. 3) Provisional Regulations, 1941.
NEW LANCS ASSOCIATION LINK-UP erHE Amalgamated Horse and Motor I Owners' Association (until recently a joint organization with the C.M.U.A. South-east Lanes Area) has become affiliated to A.R.O. Completion of the negotiations was announced on Monday last by Mr. j. S. Howarth, secretary of the A.H. and M.O.A., and Mr. B. Winterbottom, A.R.O. East Lanes area secretary. Under the new arrangement the Lancashire body will retain complete autonomy, but members. whether A, B. or p.s.v. operators, will have full benefits, including national representation. In all respects the local bodies will work closely together.
