of the Road Haulage Association were: dock delays and demurrage charges; the possibility of new negotiating machinery for labour relations; fuel tax and the coming Budget; the proposed annual inspection of vehicles; and the industrial training scheme.
Decisions on demurrage charges and on a new labour relations committee were due to be taken at yesterdays meeting of the national executive. It was expected that, after a " normal S' waiting time, demurrage charges would be recommended at an hourly rate in the range of 15s. to 30s. according to the load— and not confined solely to docks.
