'THE Scottish-based haulage group, Tayforth Ltd.. has bought, for shares and cash, together worth £1,680,000, Hanson Haulage Ltd., of Huddersfield, Yorkshire, whose shares are all controlled by the Hanson family. The terms were the issue of 1,740,747 Tayforth 5s. Ordinary shares and £400,000 cash. Hanson, who forecast a pre-tax 1964 profit of £200,000 and expect a further increase in the current year, operate more than 200 vehicles and 115 trailers.
This move will strengthen Tayforth's activities in parcel haulage, although Hanson will continue to trade under the company's own name.
In 1963-64, Tayforth distributed 15 per cent, covered two and a half times, and have already increased the current year's interim dividend to 71 per cent.
