KEN SUTTON, West Midlands PTE's operations director for the past nine years, is joining the list of prominent busmen bowing out before deregulation.
Sutton, who is 55 and earns £26,000 a year, is taking early retirement.
He said: "I don't feel like staying on to dismantle something I have spent so many years building up.
"I really don't like the idea of making a profit out of people and being in a position of seeing a need for a particular bus service bin not being able to provide it because it would operate at a loss.
