A MOTION deploring the decision of I-A the Northern Licensing Authority to refuse a licence to Mr. Derek Wiscombe, Jarrow, has been put down in the House of Commons by Captain H. D. Kerby (Cons., Arundel and Shoreham).
Wiscombe, a lad of 17. sought a B licence for a lorry to replace his present horserdrawn cart, but *was' unsuccessful because he did not produce any documentary evidence. 'Captain Kerby's motion calls upon the Authority to rescind his decision.

USE OF OIL PRODUCTS RECUPERATING IN the first nine months of . the year,
1,308,715 tons of dery were crnisuthed. in the United Kingdom compared with. 1,321,795 tons in 1956. Total deliveries of all grades of petrol in the first nine months of this year at 4,253,066 tons compared with 4,844,855 for JanuarySeptember, 1956.
Since the end of fuel rationing, consumption of oil products has been at a greater rite -than last year. In JulySeptember this year .deliveries of dery were higher than the corresponding 1956 rate by 3.3 per Cent, and the increase in consumption of : premium-grade petrol was 1.4 per cent.
Requirements for standard-grade petrol declined, and standard-grade petrol is now appreciably less than half of all grades of motor spirit sold.
