I HAVE read with interest an article and letters concerning the advisability of the chairman of the Road Haulage Association joining the Road Transport Executive.
As I was the writer of the letter, "An Old Reader Castigates Us," published in your issue dated November 2, 1945, I would ask you to publish the letter I am now writing.
I have not secured a good position under nationalization, also I am due to retire next April at the age of 65.
I would suggest to all engaged in transport, however, to do their best in the country's interest by dropping these bickerings.
Incidentally, I would like to take this opportunity of referring to my letter, " Great Potential Value of the I.R.TE.," published in your issue dated December 15, -1944. What I said in that letter is now a fact, and I offer My thanks to the Editor Of "The Commercial Motor" for this splendid achievement, whilst to all members of the I.R.TE. I send best wishes for the future.
